As with many small businesses, 2024 was an exhilarating and exasperating year. The excitement of owning a patented gold claim in Nevada, six dredging claims in Oregon, had expectations for the year at a high level. After our trip to Oregon for some testing on our claims, it was back to Nevada where the temperatures were finally warm enough to work around the water, and not have to bundle up against the wind. Thunderstorms with dry lightning and grass fires close to camp kept things interesting as we weathered the rollercoaster of depending on the often unpredictable.
With the new year comes new adventures and frustrations as Oro Expeditions moves forward on a larger scale than in the past. The adventures and challenges will be on a bit bigger scale.

Starting on my end of the year sorting through the piles on my desk and credenza for what to keep and what to throw routine, I found a hidden treasure. The summer of 2015, we lived at Happy Camp, California, there was a group of film students working on a project. We, among others, were interviewed for their film.
